Mallorquin Village house

SUPERBLY RENOVATED MALLORQUIN VILLAGE HOUSE

Being one of the first houses built in this Mallorquin village there was no electrical or plumbing installation. This all had to be integrated whilst maintaining the grandeur of the original three storey 200 year old village house. Thick stone walls, wood beamed ceiling and a vaulted staircase were the only things left remaining after we completely stripped this house.

Limestone plaster, wood and stone are the three elements used throughout and combining the beauty of these materials with modern day practicality created this showcase into the past. The floor on the main level is raised, to create a ventilation for capilar humidity. This together with the ‘breathable’ limestone plaster leaves the air humidity extremely low and healthy in these otherwise very humid village houses.

Walk in showers with concealed drainage, restored century old marble ‘picas’ are just a few of the elements that make this home so unique and masterfully moulded to the 200 year old building.

"A shadow on the wall led me to discover the original outdoor bread oven in the cool external patio. I decided to leave it in its dramatic state, creating a breath taking backdrop from the moment you walk into this light and airy home.”
